new seating arrangements

The Power announced the following changes to its seating arrangements in October...

1) The establishment of a Power Game-Day Members Enclosure to be made up of the Premium Terrace seats (on the eastern wing). The enclosure will be protected by gates and AAMI Stadium ‘redcoats’ so access will only be for Game-Day Members with a seat in that area. Daily tickets will no longer be available for the Premium Terrace.

2) There will be a General Admission area for the first time at an AFL game at AAMI Stadium (other than the Members’ area). Located in the Northern Grandstand, it will make it much easier for supporters to sit with friends and family.

3) The Standard Terrace and Budget Terrace areas will combine into one new Standard Terrace area, located within the 50 metre arc at each end of the ground. This is aimed at reducing confusion on pricing options and reducing queues on game day.

4) A change of name from Season Ticket Holders to Game-Day Members. This is aimed at better reflecting the commitment of supporters who purchase tickets to all of the club’s 11 home games. Game-Day Membership does not replace Club Membership, which remains the same.

alcohol in seats

The SANFL announced in November that following an independent market research survey of more than 5,000 patrons, the SANFL, in conjunction with the AFL clubs, had made a decision to trial alcohol in seats in the Northern Grandstand and the northern end of the Members’ Reserve.

The SANFL released the following information as part of their announcement...

Areas

The two areas represent 19% of the total seats available to members and the public in the Stadium. These areas will be clearly sign-posted to inform patrons of alcohol consumption guidelines and regulations.

PUBLIC AREA – Northern Grandstand Seated Area – Top Deck This area comprises 6758 seats in total which represents 21% of the total public area.

MEMBERS’ AREA Four terrace bays at the Northern end of the Stadium (Bays 111 – 114), the first bay being located at the fence line between the Members’ Reserve and public area. This area covers 2345 seats in total which represents 16% of the total Members’ Area.

Security & Procedures

There will be additional, highly visible security to monitor, manage and control these specific areas and to provide patrons with the opportunity to identify any troublesome supporters or to report any inappropriate behaviour. An information booth on the services level of the northern grandstand will provide another point of contact should anyone be experiencing difficulties in the seated area and wish to report their concerns in a discreet manner. This area will be staffed by match-day staff.

There will be a security presence between bays that adjoin each other to ensure no carriage of alcohol into bays not designated for the trial. Plain clothed security will be positioned in both of the designated areas to provide additional monitoring of behaviour.

All staff and security will be fully instructed on their roles and responsibilities to ensure responsible service of alcohol and behaviour control. Procedures will be regularly reviewed throughout the season.

Products to be Trialed

- Full strength beer – 425ml cups
- Light Beer – 425ml cups
- Limited range of RTD’S (5% alcohol content) poured into plastic cups
- Wine and champagne poured into plastic cups

Purchasing Guidelines

There will be a limit of four purchases per customer. A carry tray must be purchased when ordering more than two drinks. Drink carry trays will be available to purchase at an estimated cost of $0.20. When entering the designated drinking bays, there will be a limit of one carry tray per customer.
