THREE players will make their AFL debut this Sunday at the MCG when Port Adelaide takes on Melbourne at 1.10pm, after the Power's squad was trimmed to 22 on Friday.

First-round draft pick Oliver Wines, pocket rocket Jake Neade and recently upgraded rookie Kane Mitchell have all been named in the Power’s final team for Sunday.

Also set to make their club debut is Angus Monfries (recruited from Essendon), Lewis Stevenson (from West Coast) and Campbell Heath (from Sydney).

A notable absentee from the side is key back Alipate Carlile who has been rested due to hamstring soreness.

Aaron Young will travel with the team as an emergency.

Senior coach Ken Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au the team provides the club with its fittest side possible – and best chance at victory.

“No doubt both teams are desperate to get away to a good start ... the main thing for us of course is that Port get out on top,” Hinkley said.

“We’ve picked our best side that we’ve got available as far as form and conditioning – blokes who’ve had the best preparation - are concerned.

“We need to make sure we’ve got the fittest people we can out there in round one because I think that gives a team its best chance.

“It’s great for the two young boys and Mitch (Kane Mitchell) to come the hard way from the rookie list is one of the best opportunities.

“It’s well deserved.”

Port Adelaide will have its traditional Easter Saturday open training at Alberton Oval at 10.00am – open to all members with Thunda Power on hand to give Easter eggs to children.
