THREE changes have been made to the Port Adelaide side that went down by 10 points last week, including one debutant.

Into the side come Andrew Moore and Jarrad Redden who have been in excellent form in the SANFL.

Moore had 37 disposals and 11 clearances for North Adelaide in the SANFL two weeks ago, while Redden has kicked eight goals in two weeks.

Also coming into the side will be Sam Colquhoun, who will make his AFL debut against the Tigers after being recruited with pick #3 in the 2013 pre-season draft.

Ruckmen Matthew Lobbe and Brent Renouf come out of the side, along with forward Paul Stewart.

Senior coach Ken Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au the decision to replace Lobbe and Renouf with Redden – to play a sole ruckman – has been contemplated for several weeks.

“We’ve been talking about it for probably six weeks, whether we could get away with one ruck or two rucks,” Hinkley said.

“Our preference has probably been to have two rucks in form but we probably haven’t got that over a four quarter effort.

“Redden’s been in fantastic form, he’s kicked eight goals over the last two weeks and he can go forward and cause some problems for the opposition as well.”

Moore returns to the side after being omitted ahead of Round 2 and Hinkley says he will add extra grunt to the midfield against the Tigers.

“He (Moore) has had something like 20 clearances across his last two games in the SANFL,” Hinkley said.

“We’ve got to get some more clearances going our way and he’ll be an important player to providing that.

Colquhoun will debut as a utility for the Power and is expected to float across the forward and back lines.

“Sam comes into play as more a utility player who can play forward and back,” explained Hinkley.

“His form through the pre-season and the SANFL has been high, and he’s probably had to wait a week or two more because we’ve been winning games.”

Round 7 presents a new challenge for Port Adelaide.

Coming off three consecutive losses, Hinkley expects a desperate Tigers outfit to come out firing against the Power at AAMI Stadium.

Equally, Port is coming off its first loss for the season and is determined to re-enter the winner’s circle.

“Richmond will be no different to any other club we’ve come up against, they’re desperate to get their season back on track, just as we are,” said Hinkley.

“We’re both coming off losses.

“It doesn’t mean we’ll be any less or more desperate than them because we’re trying to do the exact same thing.

“We know they’ll be a challenge though because they’re one of the up-and-coming sides of the AFL at the moment.”
