Nicole thrilled to win a Renault Megane
Nicole Campbell was the lucky winner of the Renault Megane given away as part of the club's Drive to 40,000+ powered by Renault initiative. Now she's going to learn how to drive it!
And Nicole is a very special person – in more ways than one!
She is the lucky winner of the brand new Renault Megane that was given away at Port Adelaide’s Round 14 match against Collingwood at AAMI Stadium.
At the beginning of Renault Australia’s joint major partnership with the club, the carmaker decided to give away a new Megane if the club broke through its membership target of 40,000 members for the 2013 season, as part of its Drive to 40,000+ powered by Renault campaign.
The club went beyond that mark and more this year.
Nicole was confirmed as the winner of the Megane when Renault Australia’s managing director Justin Hocevar drew out her numbered key at half time of the match.
She has been a Platinum Member of the club for eight years and attends as many games as she can as an avid Power supporter; Jake Neade is her favourite player.
Nicole suffers from a mental illness and lives with her 71-year-old carer Barbara, herself a passionate Port Adelaide woman.
Both were thrilled when Nicole was confirmed as the winner of the Megane.
The pair visited the club’s Alberton headquarters along with Nicole’s father Steve and her friend Mark.
During her visit, she was given a tour of the club’s facilities and met with Jake Neade and fellow forward Jay Schulz, as well as the club’s administrative staff who made sure she was decked out in the official club kit.
Nicole now plans to learn to drive in her new Renault Megane with help from her father.
And while she will need to wait a few more days for her new machine to arrive from France, she’s certainly looking forward to the opportunity to learn how to drive it.
“I want to thank Renault for my car and Port Adelaide for drawing out my number,” Nicole said.
“It’s made me very happy – thank you!”
Port Adelaide members can read more about Nicole’s story in the club’s 2013 Yearbook – out in November.
