Injury Update: Stewart, Hombsch out for at least month
portadelaidefc.com.au has the inside word on the injuries of Paul Stewart and Jack Hombsch.
Stewart missed the majority of the game after being tackled by Adelaide’s Jared Petrenko.
He had surgery on Sunday night immediately after the match and is a chance to return to the track within 10 days.
“How quickly he is able to return to training depends on a number of factors,” the Power’s high performance manager Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“But he could be back running within the next ten days and from there we’ll see how he goes before we think about how he can return to contact training.”
Defender Jack Hombsch could miss the remainder of the season after being confirmed as out for between four and six weeks.
Hombsch fractured his cheekbone during a collision at training.
Burgess says the nature of the injury will restrict his ability to train.
“He can’t do anything for the next two weeks,” said Burgess.
“At that time we’ll re-evaluate the best approach for him for the rest of the season.”
The club is still awaiting confirmation on the duration of Brett Ebert’s hamstring injury.
