Capping off a tremendous year on field was Sam Gray’s confirmation as Port Adelaide’s best and fairest SANFL player for the 2013 season. It was a deserved and arguably unsurprising result, with Gray dominating the coaches voting throughout the year with a string of best-on-ground performances.

Gray polled 244 votes to win the award ahead of Zane Kirkwood (171 votes) and Kory Beard and Steven Summerton who tied on 137.

He was also named best team man.

The each member of the club's coaching panel voted on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis during the 2013 season with Gray receiving a perfect score of 25 in three games during the year.

Summerton and Kirkwood both won individual awards on the night. Summerton was presented the Fos Williams Memorial Trophy for Most Dedicated Player while Kirkwood won the Coaches' Award.

Jake Johansen was named the club's best first year player after making his debut as a 16-year-old at the start of the season and playing a number of league games.

Daniel Kulikowski was awarded the Anthony Williams Memorial Trophy as the club's most courageous Magpie, while Josh Thurgood was recognised for his year-high haul of goals.
