Slattery, Summerton sign on
Port Adelaide has confirmed the plumb signatures of former Essendon defender Henry Slattery and one-time A.R. McLean Medallist Steven Summerton to its SANFL player pool.
Both members of the 2013 Magpies playing list, Slattery and Summerton are the latest confirmed signings to the Port Adelaide's SANFL list and will be entitled to play for the club in both the SANFL IGA League and Reserves competitions.
They joined Aseri Raikiwasa, Ben Sawford, Ben Haren, Jake Johansen, Anthony Biemans, Louis Sharrad and Danny Butcher, who were confirmed in the last month.

Slattery, 27, has been signed as Port Adelaide's 'leadership player', meaning he sits outside the club's League pool of 15 players.
But the question of the captaincy will be determined at a later date, with the club electing to keep its options open on who will wear the famed #1 guernsey.
He played his first games for the Magpies in 2012 as a versatile utility, either as a defensive forward or across the midfield and half back. Summerton, 25, has been a long-term midfielder for the Magpies having debuted against Sturt in 2006.
The 137-gamer is a veteran by modern SANFL standards and has a long list of honours as a former vice-captain and best and fairest winner.
Both Slattery and Summerton were members of the Magpies' 2013 leadership group and are keen to continue setting the standard on the track next year.
The pair will automatically become the elder statesmen of the playing group with the club's Elite Football Academy consisting primarily of players in their late teens and early twenties.
For Slattery, providing leadership and imparting his knowledge as a former AFL player will be his key focus.
"It's a young group and they'll need a bit more experience and leadership around training on and off-field," Slattery told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"Hopefully I can provide knowledge that will help the younger kids throughout the year.
"I think all the skills and tactics I've got in the last eight years through playing AFL is very similar to what Port is trying to do through the Power and Magpies.
"I just want to help and educate blokes."

Summerton will work with several younger players initially and provides a real-life example to the young Academy members of a player who developed from junior to senior level.
"I'm stoked to stay here, growing up around this area I knew nothing other than black and white and the Magpies," Summerton told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"I'll be hanging around here for the next few years.
"The first few trainings of this pre-season took a bit getting used to. I'm used to having older boys around me leading the way.
"I'm taking on the challenge of taking a few younger boys under my wing and working with them, it should be pretty exciting."
Port Adelaide is expected to confirm at least one more player signing and release the 2014 SANFL fixture before the Christmas break.
