Garry Hocking runs the rule over his players against South Adelaide from last Saturday...

Paul Stewart
Stewie played very well across four quarters with an even contribution to offence and defence. Played more on ball this week, winning his own ball at the stoppages and getting forward at the right times to hit the scoreboard. Continues to push for AFL selection.

Karl Amon
A lower possession performance this week for Karl. He looked dangerous at times when he was able to get on the end of some footy coming out of stoppage, but just needs to take the opposition on and look to hit the scoreboard or set up some opportunities for our forwards.

Mitch Harvey
It was a return to Prospect Oval that may have been a bit weird for Mitch running out in a different jumper. Very competitive up forward as well as doing more ruckwork than previous weeks due to the Renouf injury. Going back with the flight of the ball was a highlight as well as five marks and two goals.

Steven Summerton
Summo is just playing great footy considering he is also being tagged he continually just racks up the ball and uses it so well around the ground. We wish him all the best playing in the SANFL v VFL game this weekend.

Angus Bruggemann
Had the matchup of Mitchell early in the match but the Heath injury changed a few things for us down back. Bruggers had to go do the ruck work after Renouf went down and did another fine job by giving us a real contest around the ball. Pushed forward on occasions and kicked a goal when we needed it most.

Ben Haren
Ben had the task of playing on Barnes as a defender this week and although Barnesy finished with 2 goals, Ben did a great job as well as helping us move the ball out of defence. Like Bruggers I would like to settle him in one position but due to Injury and opposition matchups Ben provides flexibility.

Tom Logan
Another strong performance from Tom, won plenty of the ball and was tough in the contest. Late in the game he pushed hard forward, found the ball and finished the day with a fantastic goal on the run.

Tom Clurey

Match ups had to be adjusted early in the game and we were hoping Tom could be a bit more attacking in his role, but he quickly found himself back playing on Mitchell. A good job against a strong, big-bodied opponent and he also managed to win the ball at the right times. 21 disposals was great, but we still need him to be a bit more efficient when in possession.

Campbell Heath
Hurt very early in the game going back with the flight of the ball. We all wish him well with his recovery from LARS surgery.

John Butcher
Was a little flat early in the game but he did manage to have three goals by half time. His last quarter was more like a forward where he presented up at the ball and took two great grabs. A nice snap on goal for his 5th possibly sealed the match for us.

Anthony Biemans

Not as damaging this week when playing forward but still manages to find the ball from gut running up and down the ground. Defensively a good job on Ryswyk at times.

Cam O’Shea
Found plenty of the ball this week again with 21 disposals. Cam found himself up on the wing for a while this week as well as going back to defence to help out. Needs to keep running hard for us over four quarters and support the backs in the air like Hombsch does in the AFL team.

Daniel Flynn
Went into the game a little sore from previous games but again showed why our recruiting people targeted him. He uses the ball well and looks to run, carry and penetrate the opposition's defence. Calm and poised in possession and is gaining confidence each time he plays.

Sam Gray
Sam started on ball and had a solid performance over four quarters. One contest in particular was outstanding were he took up the space of a leading Mitchell and stood his ground to take a great mark. Finished the game with 24 possessions and one goal.

Jake Neade
Very lively again with his pace and pressure. I have said it before: he is in great form and continues to put pressure on the AFL team. Works hard up and down the ground and looks to bring others into the game.

Darcy Byrne-Jones
Just a little of the pace early in the match and then had the task of curbing Ryswyck while resting forward. He was able to defend strongly again as well as provide us with run and rebound. Always looks to improve his game week-to-week.

Ben Newton
Like a broken record Newts again showed some real class and quality in this match. Got us going around the stoppages and kicked the ball beautifully to the forwards advantage this week. Continues to impress and just needs to be patient.

Brent Renouf
Started well in the ruck but unfortunately hurt his knee and did not finish the game. Like Campbell we wish him well in his recovery.

Brendon Ah Chee
Showed some real dash this week from stoppage, this is what we are looking for each week from Arch. Now he needs to be consistent over four quarters and take a 15-possession game to the twenties as well as play his role for us.

Robbie Young
His game could have been even better had he finished off in front of goal. Scoring 1.2 was a little disappointing, but his pressure and speed at the opposition was very visible throughout the match. Continues to develop nicely and has shown signs he can play at this level.

Mason Shaw
Started with a bang early in the game where he gave us a real target through the midfield. It will take a little bit of time to gel with Butcher and Harvey up forward. Ran out the game OK considering he hasn't played a game since Centrals in our second trial match.
