It’s a disappointing blow for Moore, who had forced his way into the Power side in Round 11 for his first AFL game this year, following a string of good performances in the SANFL.
Port Adelaide high performance manager Darren Burgess said Moore initially injured his collarbone in a pre-season game against St Kilda at Alberton.
“He was able to keep playing after that initial injury, but he copped another hit on the weekend against Melbourne,” Burgess said.
“We sent him in to consult doctors on Tuesday and he went in for surgery that night.
“Surgery was the best option to get Moorey back playing at full capacity this year.”
