Q1: What is a sell-out?
A sell-out occurs when all daily reserved seats AND general admission tickets are sold. A sell out can only occur after the final release of tickets, which occurs two business days prior to the game.
Saturday/Sunday game – final release is 12:00pm (ACST) Wednesday
Friday game – final release is 12:00pm (ACST) Tuesday
Thursday game – final release is 12:00pm (ACST) Monday
Q2: Why is there a ‘final release’ of tickets? When does this happen?
A number of daily tickets are always retained for allocation to a range of stakeholders (including corporate, Auskick and game day events). If the full allocation of these tickets isn’t required, they are released for daily sale during the final release of tickets (see Q2 above). This occurs for every game at the Adelaide Oval.
Q3: Is the game sold out when all reserved seats are sold?
No. The game can only be sold out when all reserved seats and daily general admission tickets are fully sold. This usually occurs within the two days leading up to the game.
Q4: Can GA members access the game when it is classified as a sell-out?
Yes. Approximately 7,500 unreserved seats in the Riverbank Stand, Eastern Stand and north-eastern pocket, and 2,500 standing room positions (10,000 places total) are always held for each game, and are available to spectators with general admission access on a ‘first-in’ basis.
Once this number is reached, no further general admission members or general admission daily ticket holders will be able to enter the ground (general admission access is subject to capacity).
While general admission access is subject to capacity, Port Adelaide considers the likely member attendance figure when releasing daily tickets to the public, in order to best avoid a lock-out situation.
To date, there has not been a lock-out at a Port Adelaide home game at the Adelaide Oval.
Q5: What does ‘subject to capacity’ mean?
Members with unreserved/general admission membership packages to the Adelaide Oval – including 11-Game General Admission, Country, 3-game, Victorian and Interstate members – have access to any home game* subject to capacity (see above). To avoid disappointment we suggest general admission members or general admission daily ticket holders arrive early to games, or, upgrade to a single-game reserved seat via Ticketek to guarantee their entry into a particular game (subject to availability, applicable upgrade charges will apply depending on seating category selected).
Q6: When will I know whether the game is sold out?
An official sell-out will be advised on portadelaidefc.com.au and the Official Twitter Profile and Facebook Page of the Port Adelaide Football Club.
A sell-out can only occur in the two days leading up to the game.
Q7: What’s the best way to access the game as a GA member?
You have two options. First, arrive early and scan in using your member card. The second, is to upgrade to a reserved seat via Ticketek (see Q8 below)
Q8: How do I upgrade my seat?
You will need a Ticketek account and your member barcode(s), which can be found on the back of your member card. General admission members will have the ability to upgrade to a reserved seat on a game-by-game basis subject to availability with one day’s priority access to an upgrade window, before the general public.
