PORT Adelaide has secured the signature of another youngster with defender Tom Clurey extending his stay at Alberton by a further two years.
His new deal will keep the 21-year-old at Alberton until the end of 2017.
Regarded for his running engine and defensive ability, Clurey played just his second AFL game in two years last week when he was recalled to the Power against Melbourne.
Filling the shoes of the injured Jackson Trengove, Clurey's third game will be on Saturday night against the Western Bulldogs.
Having played solid football in the SANFL for the last season-and-a-half, Clurey is now ready to repay the team on the field.
“I’m really enjoying Adelaide, I’m settled here and there’s so many great guys I can learn off,” Clurey said.
“The club has shown loyalty to me and I want to repay that.
“I know where I need to improve and I’m really focusing on the little things to be the best player I can.”
