Peter Jackson Player of the Week
Aaron Young
Had a good battle inside stoppage with the opposition mids. 11 tackles and 11 clearances is a great effort and he needs to continue with this form.
Player reviews
Tom Gray
Made his debut and did not disappoint. Played really tough and looked composed when in possession.
Kane Mitchell
Reasonable numbers and worked fairly hard around the footy. Eight tackles was outstanding.
Steven Summerton
Gained a fair bit of possession and made generally good decisions. Needs to up the ante defensively.
Dougal Howard
Had only a small impact on the game and needs to bring a strong contest weekly.
Tom Logan
Kicked our first goal and got the boys going, but was inconsistent across the day due to a head knock that kept him off the ground for a period during the third quarter.
Sid Masters
A solid game from Sid but he did let himself down with a couple of nasty turnovers.
Sam Russell
Very solid game defensively keeping Phillips to small numbers.
Ben Sawford
Found it difficult at times to get into the game but did not stop trying.
John Butcher
Butch only really got going in the last quarter. His last quarter was very good but we need that intensity and leadership across four.
Darcy Byrne-Jones
Looked dangerous up on the wing and carried the ball well at times. Consistency in games is improving weekly.
Logan Austin
First one back off injury and won the battles against Davis and Dawe. Will have a big job this week again against the Eagles.
Andrew Moore
Moorey had a really good battle around stoppage against Panos. Must continue to challenge the oppo’s best mids and prove to himself and us he can dominate at this level.
Jarred Redden
Much better with his aggression and ruck work this week. Must provide this sort of effort for us for the rest of the year.
Anthony Biemans
Was pretty solid down back for most of the game, took some telling marks when the oppo were pressuring us.
Sam Gray
Not his best performance but I’m sure he will bounce back this week. Speed, aggression and tackle pressure missing from this game.
Sam Colquhoun
Very pleasing to see him have five tackles. Sam must also run himself into the ground both in defence and offence.
Billy Frampton
Aggression evident in his performance again. Played a different role this week but was still quite effective for us.
Jesse Palmer
I liked his game again as it had good balance of defence and offence. Five marks and two goals - Jesse played his role for the team.
Johann Wagner
Needs to take the opportunities in front of goals when they are presented. Tackle, chase and hunt the oppo consistently is a focus for him for the rest of the year.
Nathan Krakouer
Pretty good performance for us, tested the opposition defence at times with his composure and attacking ability. Must continue to be busy when the ball leaves his area.
