IS Chad Wingard headed for another All-Australian berth?
The stats say yes.
Wingard had a breakout season in 2013, winning the John Cahill Medal and earning his first All-Australian spot.
Not only was he miraculous, he was also very, very consistent. And despite a slow start to 2015 that was in part due to pre-season knee surgery, Wingard’s form is now on par with 2013.
BY THE NUMBERS: Power at Etihad
This is not to disregard his 43-goal 2014 season (where he also took Mark of the Year), but in 2015 Wingard has kicked at least three goals in each of his past six games, taking his season tally to 35 majors.
His average numbers for disposals, marks, clearances, contested, score involvements and tackles have all remained consistent or improved. Wingard’s metres gained are down, but he’s on track to kick 50+ goals – which would be his best return in any of his four years.
