ROUND 21 could see one Hawk return from injury to face the Power on Friday night at Etihad Stadium.
Ruckman Jon Ceglar has been flagged by hawthornfc.com.au as a chance to play, after spending Round 20 sidelined with back spasms.
General manager of football operations Chris Fagan said he’s made steady improvement and will be tested this week.
“He had a good running session on the weekend. With a bit of luck he’ll train today and certainly put his hand up later in the week for selection,” Fagan said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile Matt Spangher is still another week away from hitting the field following a hamstring injury and won’t face the Power on Friday.
“We’ve taken the view that we’ll prepare him slowly, so he’ll be right during the important part of the year, leading into finals,” Fagan explained.
The Hawks will be out hunting a win on Friday night, as the two sides meet under lights for an ANZAC Day re-match, which Port Adelaide took away by a narrow eight points in Round 4.
“Those games against Port Adelaide have been pretty tough, entertaining games the last few years,” Fagan said.
“There’s quite a rivalry there so it’ll be a tough contest – one that we’ve got to win to stay in the hunt to finish top two. It’s really important we win our last three games, there’s quite a lot at stake.”
