Matthew Lobbe

On the result

"It’s obviously really disappointing. It was probably the first quarter that got away from us, they just smashed us inside and we weren’t able to defend the way we wanted, and the game really got away from us from there."

On poor ball use

"When you’re beating the inside 50s you know you’re doing something wrong – whether it’s our entries, or the way we defended our entries, and they were just able to rebound and get scoring shots off that. We’ll have to have a hard look at that."

On inaccuracy in front of goal

"I was one of those [14 Power players who kicked a behind]. We’ll have a few set shots at goal at training – that’s definitely one of the areas we’ve got to work on."

On bouncing back

"You’re going to be disappointed for the next 24 hours, and it’s our job to bounce back as quickly as we can, do everything we can to recover well, and train well when we get the chance. It’s a good turnaround for us – it’s one of the best things about footy."

Ollie Wines

On team care

"Obviously we’ve got some quality individuals on the team, but at the end of the day it comes back to playing together and playing the common team goal. We haven’t been able to do that for the first two weeks, we’ve only been able to do that in patches."

On the game plan

"We trust our game plan to the moon and trust what the coaches have done for us. We’ve just got to execute it on game day which we just haven’t been able to do. "

Jasper Pittard

On the result

"It’s a bit of a dog of a day, we couldn’t get anything going from the outset, they were really hard at it, they worked through it and got the job done."

On stopping Adelaide’s momentum

"Sometimes it’s just really hard when they have that flow on. Things were bouncing their way, they were kicking pretty pressured goals, we’ve just got to stand up as a group and realise that there’s a time where you’ve got to shut down the game a bit and find a way to do that."

On what Ken had to say

"He said we didn’t play Port Adelaide footy, that we didn’t absorb the pressure well enough early. It was probably mostly about the fact that they got their hands to it and wanted it more. We just couldn’t get our game going, we didn’t get out offence going…I thought they did that really well.

"We had our chances – we won the inside 50s, but we’ve got to change it up a bit. We were just bombing it in there and making it hard for our tall forwards."

On moving forward

"It’s Round 2, it’s a long season – there’s plenty of things to work on but plenty of time to get it right. The key for us is to not be down in the dumps all week, we’ve got to move on to next Friday night and get really excited about playing Port Adelaide footy. We’ll put that one in the bank and move on and give a good show to our supporters next week."
