It was a lot better performance [than last week], felt like we worked together a bit more and stayed together for the night.
We had a really intense week on the training track which helped.
But we also know that it's one good performance and we're still trying to earn that respect back and get some consistency going.
That means turning up week in, week out, no matter who or where you're playing, to play the Port Adelaide footy we know we can.

We were just trying to have a four-quarter performance - and that's effort, four quarters of actual effort.
Getting team roles [correct], getting what we trained for all summer done consistently, we know sometimes it won't get us the win, but if we bring effort at least we can hold our heads high.
Tonight I thought we did that really well, maybe a bit too sloppy in the last quarter, but we came to defend, defend really well, and our thought our offense was a little bit better after rightly criticised during the week for being too slow down the line.

We played the game we wanted to play, we were aggressive with the ball, brave and used our weapons to try and break the game open.
Essendon have some really big bodies, some very experienced footballers who are very smart.
I think it was a credit to the midfield, who cracked in all night and got us first use.
GWS are a very good side, we have a little bit more of a break so we'll train extra hard this week and take some momentum into that game.
