JACKSON TRENGOVE has been offered a one-game ban for striking Geelong captain Joel Selwood, while Richmond's Alex Rance looks set to miss the Round 6 clash between the Power and Tigers.

Trengove's strike against Selwood was assessed as low impact, intentional and to the head - normally a two-game suspension.

He can accept the ban - and miss the Richmond clash - by submitting an early plea.

Dual All-Australian Robbie Gray has also been charged by the MRP for rough conduct against Tom Ruggles.

Gray can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea and be named to play the Tigers.

The Match Review Panel also charged a raft of Port and Geelong players for engaging in the quarter time bench-clearer at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Power captain Travis Boak, vice-captain Hamish Hartlett, Trengove, Jimmy Toumpas, Cam O'Shea and Jasper Pittard along with Geelong's Selwood, Mark Blicavs, Corey Enright, Ruggles, Tom Hawkins, Josh Caddy, Nakia Cockatoo and Rhys Stanley were cited for engaging in a melee.

All can accept a reduced $1000 sanction with early plea.

The hit between Tom Jonas and Patrick Dangerfield which is believed to have triggered the melee was also reviewed by the panel.

It was found that Jonas was making a legitimate attempt to mark the ball from the kick-out at the end of the quarter.

Charges for Tigers

Melees were the theme of the round with Richmond and Melbourne players also charged by the MRP.

Richmond's Ty Vickery, Daniel Rioli, Jake Lloyd, Kamydn McIntosh and Jake Batchelor were all charged with first or second melee offences. They will also be free to play.

Alex Rance, on the other hand, will need to appeal his striking charge at the tribunal if he wishes to play the Power next weekend.

Rance was charged for striking Jack Watts on Sunday night.

The panel assessed his strike as being intentional, medium impact to the head. The incident was classified as a three-match ban, which can be reduced to two games with an early plea.

Port Adelaide plays Richmond at 7.25pm (local) at the MCG on Saturday 30 April.
