1. Port Adelaide’s third quarters...
Aren't getting the job done. Port's lapses after half time have either kept a hunter in the hunt, or seen them reeled in and overtaken as GWS did on Sunday. Hinkley has identified this as an issue, in a game of two halves, the Power's start was let down by their finish, and there have been a number of examples of that this year.
2. Finals are mathematical only
Where does Port fit? Probably around its current standing. It has by-and-large beaten the teams below it in 2016, and fallen to those above. Fundamentally it is Port Adelaide v the mathematics now, the Power must keep winning, and rely on other results to fall their way - never a good place to be leading into the final five games on the calendar.
3. Ebert is about as tough as they come
At one point he was seen as an heir apparent to the tagging crown of Kane Cornes, but maybe we're wrong, maybe he'll take Tom Logan's mantle as the toughest man on the list. Ebert has a long history of bleeding for the club after copping a knock to the head. His game was exceptional on Sunday and he deserves credit for the four goals and 19 touches which came in spite of him needing medical attention three times.
4. And Robbie Gray...
Would be giving the John Cahill Medal a fair look again. His recent form has been very good - perhaps not career-best, but certainly among some of the leading efforts of the team. He played a standout game on Sunday in a losing team, certainly making his 150th-game milestone count.
