PORT ADELAIDE general manager of football Chris Davies says while the club is disappointed with the result of Robbie Gray’s tribunal hearing, they accept the sanction and have “moved on”.
The MRP’s decision to hand Gray a one-match ban for rough conduct against Jeremy McGovern in the Power’s JLT clash against West Coast was upheld at the AFL Tribunal hearing last night.
“We were pleased with the defence our CQ Mark Griffin put forward… but we have moved on now pretty quickly,” Davies told Rowey and Bicks on Wednesday.
“We’ve got a really important second JLT game against Adelaide in just over a week, where we are really looking to put the final touches on our pre-season before Round 1.
“What’s done is done. We are disappointed for Rob, but we have bigger fish to fry now and that is our focus.”
Gray will miss Port’s home season opener against Fremantle on Saturday, March 24, but will be available for JLT 2 at Alberton against the Crows on Saturday, March 10.
