PEOPLE heading to Adelaide Oval for Port Adelaide’s 2018 AFL season-opener against Fremantle have been encouraged to ‘Spread the Love’ by bringing a jar of spread with them to donate to Foodbank SA.

Currently, more than 100,000 South Australians require food relief every month with one third of those children.

Many of the spreads will be used at the hundreds of schools with Foodbank SA school breakfast programs, in Foodbank every day hampers that are given to struggling families in need, and in Foodbank Foodhubs.

Spreads can be used for breakfast, lunches and in cooking, making them extremely versatile.

So if you’re heading along to Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon, bring along a jar of peanut butter, vegemite, jam or even honey.

A little ‘Spread of Love’ goes a long way to supporting vulnerable South Australians in need.

You will also be able to donate loose change to Foodbank to the volunteers dressed in purple.

A $1 donation can be turned into $8 worth of food for Foodbank.
