AS Port Adelaide prepares to travel to Sydney to take on the Swans in round 2 of the 2018 AFL season, portadelaidefc.com.au takes a look back on the last clash between the sides.

Like Sunday’s round 2 game, the sides met at the SCG, a venue the Power hadn’t won at in five attempts.

Sporting three debutants and ruckman Paddy Ryder playing his first game since 2015, leaders Brad Ebert, Ollie Wines and Travis Boak - playing his 200th game - spurred Port to a famous win, just its second victory over Sydney in their past 15 meetings.

Aaron Young and Chad Wingard each booted three goals, while debutant Sam Powell-Pepper had two, including a 70 metre bomb in the third quarter as the Power ran away with the game.

Powell-Pepper’s performance included seven clearances, five inside 50s and 19 touches, earning him the round one nomination for the NAB Rising Star award.
