PORT ADELAIDE could welcome back a forward star and some midfield reinforcements for Saturday’s Showdown against Adelaide.
Chad Wingard trained strongly on Wednesday and is in contention to return from a hamstring complaint that saw him sit out the loss to West Coast.
Tom Rockliff was back to his ball-magnet best in the SANFL against Norwood on Friday night, collecting an equal team-high 31 disposals with Jimmy Toumpas, who was also busy off half back.
Rockliff also booted a goal and had four marks, three tackles and seven inside 50s.
Toumpas could be considered for his first game of the AFL season after collecting seven marks, four rebound 50s and two inside 50s for the Magpies.
Sam Powell-Pepper is another pushing for a return against the Crows.
The 20 year-old started slowly against the Redlegs but finished with 26 touches, six tackles, six inside 50s and two goals after a strong second-half showing.
Joe Atley also performed strongly for the Magpies, racking up 29 disposals to go with seven tackles, three inside 50s and a long set-shot goal.
The squad to face Adelaide will be announced on Thursday evening.
