PORT ADELAIDE forward Charlie Dixon has had successful surgery on his fractured right leg.
The 27-year-old landed awkwardly in a marking contest, fracturing his fibula, in the third quarter of Saturday evening’s loss to West Coast.
Dixon had surgery late yesterday and Port Adelaide head of medical services, Tim O’Leary says the big forward will now recover and get into rehabilitation.
“Charlie’s surgery went well and he went home today,” he said.
“He’s in good spirits and will commence rehab next week, and will be looking forward to another strong pre-season.”
Dixon booted 26 goals in 20 games this season.
He arrived at Alberton in the 2015 trade period from Gold Coast.
