Arriving at the club in 2018, Zak Butters has continued to build on an extremely impressive beginning chapter of his AFL career.
Known for his hard-at-the-ball attitude and silky skills, Butters is widely known as one of the best players in the competition. 2024 was another strong year for the young star, averaging 27.1 disposals (14.2 of those kicks) and 4.9 clearances.
Unsurprisingly, Butters earned a second All-Australian blazer to go along with a third-placed Brownlow finish. He also claimed his second AFLPA Most Courageous Player Award, voted by his peers as the most courageous player in the league. He capped off an incredible year with his second John Cahill Medal, after first claiming the honour in 2023.
In a testament to his strong leadership skills, Butters is the club's vice-captain - supporting captain and best mate Connor Rozee in the 2024 season and beyond.

We also acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living people today.
