PORT ADELAIDE forward Todd Marshall has been nominated for the 2021 Rebel AFL Goal of the Year for his classy left footed snap during the second quarter of Saturday evening’s game against Carlton.
The 22-year-old kick started a run of 19 consecutive goals with his dribbled effort.
Marshall showcased his footy smarts and agility, roving to a clever tap down by fellow forward Charlie Dixon and as he gathered the ball at full speed heading towards the boundary, managed to wrap his left boot around it and send it through the goals on one bounce.
It was an important goal to stem the tide of Blues majors, with the visitors opening up a 23-point advantage.
The goal was already deemed to be the GFG Goal of the week for Round 22.
The other Round 22 nominees for Goal of the Year are Fremantle’s Caleb Serong and fellow Docker Josh Treacy.
