THE fans have spoken, voting All-Australian defender Aliir Aliir as their best on ground against Geelong in Friday night’s Qualifying Final win.
Aliir was instrumental for the Power down back with his intercepting powers helping Port Adelaide’s defence keep Geelong to just five goals.
The 26-year-old finished the night with 11 intercepts, seven spoils and seven marks – four of which were contested.
He also had 14 disposals that he made the most of, recording a perfect 100% disposal efficiency.
Claiming the maximum eight points, Aliir takes an early lead on the Fans MG MVP Finals leaderboard.
Runner up in the fans’ vote is Port Adelaide’s AFL games record holder, Travis Boak.
The 33-year-old was on song again against the Cats, collecting 32 disposals – 16 of which were contested, seven tackles, seven clearances and 10 score involvements.
Rounding out the votes this week were Orazio Fantasia (6 points), Ollie Wines (5 points), Tom Jonas (4 points), Ryan Burton (3 points), Xavier Duursma (2 points) and Dan Houston (1 point).
