PORT ADELAIDE small forwards Steven Motlop and Jed McEntee have both signed one-year contract extensions with the club.

Motlop has played 68 games for Port Adelaide since being recruited from Geelong as an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2017.

He represented the Power in 19 games this season, taking his overall AFL games tally to 203.

McEntee, who was recruited from Sturt via this year’s AFL mid-season draft, debuted for Port Adelaide as the medical sub in the club’s Round 18 win over St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.

Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps said the club was pleased to lock in the two small forwards.

“Both Steven and Jed are obviously at different stages of their careers but we are equally pleased to have them both sign on for at least another year,” Cripps said.

“Jed has attributes that we value and we were impressed with his development with the Magpies in the SANFL during the second part of the season after we recruited him from Sturt.

“Steven has played more than 200 AFL games providing experience for our younger emerging players and continues to play a role as a hard running small forward who has great goal sense.”

Recently re-contracted defender Marty Frederick has also been promoted to the club's primary list.

Port Adelaide will finalise its 2022 playing list at the AFL National Draft, being held at Marvel Stadium on November 24 and 25.

The club enters the Draft with selections 12, 63, 73, 74 and 92.
