AFTER a hugely successful visit to school’s in Adelaide’s southern suburbs in February, it was the northern suburbs chance to get their Power fix on Thursday afternoon, with players visiting 17 schools in the Gawler belt region.

The visit aimed to reinforce the Power’s footprint in the northern suburbs after establishing a strong link with the City of Salisbury in 2008, which included a Northern Family Day.

Power players discussed their pathway from junior footballer to elite athlete and detailed the challenges they’ve faced along the way, including the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The message was well received by hundreds of school children, with many pledging to switch allegiance to the Power after meeting some of our stars in person.

Kids from the north then had their chance to test their skills against the best, with Power players leading more than 100 kids in an AusKick Clinic on Gawler Oval.

Brendon Lade and Wade Thompson led a goalkicking drill, with a few future Warren Tredrea’s impressing the boys, while high flyer Shaun Burgoyne showed kids how to take the ultimate hanger.

The day wrapped up with hundreds of adoring fans taking full advantage of an autograph session, with players signing everything from posters and guernseys, to commemorative 2004 premiership cartons.
