PORT ADELAIDE has named a 30-man squad for its pre-season practice game against the Gold Coast featuring some new faces and plenty of experience.

The game against the SUNS will be Port Adelaide’s first opportunity to take on AFL opposition in the pre-season although it is expected to be a relaxed set-up, with the clubs able to set the terms of the contest including game length and number of players used.

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley on Thursday suggested he expected to use up to 28 players throughout the game.

Among those in the 30-man squad are new recruits Jeremy Finlayson and Sam Skinner as well as first-year midfielder/defender Josh Sinn.

Ruck Sam Hayes has also been included for his first chance to play against AFL opposition. The 22-year-old missed last week’s intraclub match with leg soreness.

The game against the SUNS gets underway at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast at 2pm local time / 2:30pm ACDT.

Entry is free through gate 5 for anyone wishing to attend.
