PORT ADELAIDE forward Daniel Motlop has been rewarded for his career-best season with a new contract that will keep him at Alberton until the end of 2011.
The three-year deal caps off a terrific year for the 26-year-old who on Wednesday was included in the International Rules Series squad to tackle Ireland later this month.
Motlop led the Power's goalkicking with 57 from 21 games, which saw him sneak inside the competition's top 10, and he finished third in the club's best and fairest count.
Named in the initial 40-man squad, Motlop was unlucky to miss All-Australian selection after a season that saw him make many highlight reels through his efforts inside 50.
A stand-out was his goal from the boundary line against Fremantle at Subiaco Oval in round 10 – reminiscent of Collingwood great Peter Daicos.
He is the second key signing of Port Adelaide's forward group with Brett Ebert putting pen to paper on a three-year deal earlier this season.
Motlop's career began at North Melbourne, where he played 47 games until he was traded to the Power at the end of 2005.
His career tally now sits at 97.
