FOODBANK is the official charity partner for Friday night's blockbuster between Port Adelaide and Essendon at the Adelaide Oval.
Foodbank has been a partner of the Power since 2012, and is an initiative that rescues edible, surplus food and groceries from Australia's farmers, manufacturers and retailers to reduce hunger in the community.
The non-profit organisation acts as a pantry to the charities and community groups who feed the hungry, providing meals to an average of 88,000 people every day.
To aid a current shortage, Foodbank is calling on Power fans to donate a can of tuna at the Adelaide Oval on Friday night.
Donations will be accepted in the Southern Plaza, and EnergyAustralia will host a custom-built football donations centre on the night.
For the past three years, EnergyAustralia has contributed $100 to Foodbank for every goal scored by the Power at Adelaide Oval.
Port Adelaide hosts Essendon at the Adelaide Oval at 7.20pm ACST on Friday 8 April.
