Shineah Goody training on Alberton Oval with Port Adelaide's Female Next Generation Academy.

THE Port Adelaide Football Club congratulates a host of its Female Talent Next Generation Academy graduates for their inclusion in the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships Under 18 state squad.

The South Australia squad, to be coached by Magarey Medallist Tim Weatherald, is made up of 29 players from the eight SANFLW sides.

Among the group are nine players who have come through Port Adelaide’s Female talent academy, headlined by Keeley Kustermann and Shineah Goody who are also part of the NAB AFLW Academy.

West Adelaide and Goodwood Saints product Kustermann is regarded as one of South Australia’s best draft prospects for the 2022 draft.

The 17-year-old is already an All-Australian (2019) and was previously named in the SANFLW’s team of the year (2020).

Keeley Kustermann is is regarded as one of South Australia’s best draft prospects for the 2022 draft.

Sachi Syme, Lucy Boyd, Molly Brooksby, Jemma Ellis, Charlie Scutchings, Cherylee Waters and Jemma Whitington-Charity are also Port Adelaide academy products who are part of the state squad.

South Australia will host Western Australia on Sunday April 10 at Thebarton Oval as part of the championships, which commenced in late March.

In addition to SA, WA, Vic Metro and Vic Country, the championships will feature teams from Queensland, NSW/ACT and the Allies (including players from Tasmania and Northern Territory for the first Allies game with players from NSW/ACT incorporated into the Allies for the final two matches).

The revised model for the highest standard of girls’ representative football, featuring future stars of the NAB AFLW competition, is part of the AFL's Talent Pathway Program and will involve, where possible, same day travel for teams. It replaces the carnival model which was originally planned for and would have had all teams spending a number of days in the one location.

How to watch: All matches will be live streamed free via womens.afl and the AFL Women's Live Official App.
