PORT ADELAIDE defender Riley Bonner will resume running this week as he targets a return from injury.
Bonner sprained his right ankle in the Round 8 win over the Western Bulldogs and missed the weekend’s game against North Melbourne in Hobart.
The 25-year-old will start running again at training this week alongside fellow defender Trent McKenzie who is also nearing a return following knee surgery.
Defender Jake Pasini is recovering well following season-ending knee surgery last Thursday.
Pasini had a surgical repair of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and has been added to the club’s inactive list, opening up a list spot that the club could elect to fill at the 2022 Mid-Season Rookie draft in a fortnight.
Trent Dumont has cleared the AFL’s health and safety protocols and captain Tom Jonas will also be out of isolation later this week with the expectation he will be available to take on the Cats in Geelong on Saturday afternoon.
Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side to take on Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday from 1:45pm AEST / 1:15pm ACST.
