PORT ADELAIDE plays in its first 'road' game for 2016 against GWS Giants in Canberra.
Clubland
The Power caught a break this week with the return of Hamish Hartlett and Chad Wingard from injury. They've squeezed Jarman Impey and Paul Stewart out of the team that defeated the Bombers in Round 3.
In contrast, the Giants have lost a trio of players to injury. Matt Buntine, Jack Steele and Adam Tomlinson have been brought into the side for Devon Smith (knee), Aidan Corr (ankle) and Will Hoskin-Elliott (quad).
Wide berth
Manuka Oval is the widest venue in the AFL (it's practically a circle), so it will be interesting to see how this game plays out. The Power loves the corridor and play their best football when they can run directly at goal. GWS do like to move a little wider, and they'll certainly have some latitude to get the job done on Sunday arvo.
A happy hunting ground?
Well, not really. Port Adelaide rarely travels to Canberra, and this Round 4 game represents just the fifth game in the nation's capital for the Power ever. Its only win from those four games came against the Giants in 2014, so venue form is going to be a poor indicator leading up to this match. Venue experience on the other hand is certainly in GWS's favour - it plays three games each year at Manuka, and has already beaten Geelong there this season.
Out of the middle
Port is at its most dangerous when its midfield hits the scoreboard. That didn't happen against the Crows, but was characteristic of wins over the Saints and Bombers. It's a sure-fire signal that the Power is playing the footy it wants.
The Final Word
The Giants are better than their position suggests, this game is a massive test for Port.
Afterwords
Port Adelaide will wear its regular black guernsey on Sunday, but its official uniform is yet to make an appearance, given they Power will be donning white shorts against the Giants.
This is the first game in which Port Adelaide has not debuted a player this year.
Port Adelaide plays GWS Giants at Manuka Oval at 1.10pm (AEST).
