IN: Georgiades, Mead, Teakle
OUT: Boak (H&S protocols), Dumont (injured), Gray (rested), Motlop (omitted)
PORT ADELAIDE has made four changes to its side for Saturday’s game against Sydney with 918 games of experience going out of the side and a mid-year recruit to make his AFL debut.
Ruckman Brynn Teakle has made a remarkable rise from WAFL club East Fremantle just two weeks ago to being named for his first game at the highest level this week after being claimed by Port Adelaide in the mid-season rookie draft.
The 22-year-old will be joined in the Power line-up by last week’s medical sub Martin Frederick, and youngsters Mitch Georgiades and Jackson Mead, who with Frederick boast 55 AFL games between them.
The club’s AFL games record holder Travis Boak will miss after falling under the competition’s health and safety protocols while wingman Trent Dumont is out after picking up a calf injury in last week’s game against Richmond.
Forwards Robbie Gray (rested) and Steven Motlop (omitted) will also drop out of the side.
Wingman Xavier Duursma, midfielders Taj Schofield and Sam Mayes and defender Jase Burgoyne have been named as emergencies.
The medical substitute will be named from among the list of emergencies an hour before the first bounce.
Saturday afternoon’s game at Adelaide Oval gets underway from 1:15pm ACST.
