PORT ADELAIDE will look for its fourth win of the SANFL season when it takes on the old enemy Norwood at Alberton Oval on Sunday.
The Redlegs are one spot above the Magpies on the ladder with one more win and percentage, and coach Matthew Lokan is aware of their quality.
“Norwood obviously beat us earlier in the season and their season is very much alive,” he said.
“They're real competitive stoppage team. They've got some quality guys around the around the ball, so it should be a good contest.”
Port had only seven AFL-listed players in its 16-point loss to Norwood earlier this season, and Lokan is buoyed by the opportunity to have a more experienced side this time around.
“We'll have a little bit more experience than what we did probably in round three,” he said.
“It's nice to have a bit more of a settled side.
“Some experienced guys playing in the SANFL side certainly helps the younger guys develop and helps improve the performance of our team.”
One of those experienced players will be Steven Motlop, who will don the Prison Bar guernsey after he was omitted from the AFL side.
“He's obviously a quality player that's played a lot of AFL football,” Lokan said.
“To be able to have someone with his experience back helping our younger forwards and midfielders will be beneficial for the team.
“It's exciting to have guys like Mots play in our SANFL side...it doesn't happen often.”
Trent Burgoyne, Tom Corcoran, Jake Weidemann, Campbell Wildman, Mac Nield and ex-Norwood premiership player Anthony Wilson have been named in the Magpies team.
Meanwhile, Sam Mayes, Jase Burgoyne and Taj Schofield are emergencies for the AFL side and will be able to play on Sunday if not required by at AFL level.
Fellow emergency Xavier Duursma was activated as the medical substitute against Sydney and a decision on his SANFL playing status will be made closer to the game.
The first bounce is at 1.10pm.
