OUT: Turner, Montgomery, McKenzie, Westbrook, McEntee, Kirk, Wilson, Weidemann

PORT ADELAIDE has regained valuable experience for Saturday night’s SANFL game against Central District with classy forwards Steven Motlop and Orazio Fantasia among those named to tackle the Bulldogs.

In all, Port Adelaide has made seven changes to the side which lost to West Adelaide last Saturday with former North Melbourne midfielder Trent Dumont, and first year players Brynn Teakle, Hugh Jackson and Josh Sinn also named alongside SANFL contracted player Miller Carter.

Motlop travelled to Alice Springs with the AFL side last week but was an unused emergency while Fantasia has recovered from a persistent quad complaint that has kept him sidelined for much of the season.

Mid-year rookie Teakle comes back into the side for just his second SANFL game, having recovered from surgery on a broken collarbone while Dumont returns after recovering from a calf injury.

Sinn – the 12th pick in the 2021 AFL National Draft – has not featured at any level since his AFL debut in Round 2 against Hawthorn after being hampered by a groin injury.

SANFL contracted players Aidan Turner, Jake Westbrook, Brayden Kirk, Anthony Wilson and Jake Weidemann drop out of the side along with father-son prospect Harper Montgomery, who only had permission to play two games for the club under a special rule for Next Generation Academy players.

Experienced defender Trent McKenzie and speedy forward Jed McEntee also go out of the team after being called into the AFL line-up, the former as an emergency.

Any AFL emergency not required for Saturday’s meeting with Geelong could drop back to play for the Magpies.

The game against Central District is a Port Adelaide home game, but will be played at Woodville Oval from 7:40pm on Saturday night due to the construction work at Alberton Oval.
