JUSTIN WESTHOFF has had his incredible Friday night goal nominated for the AFL’s Goal of the Year award.
Westhoff got boot-to-ball on a long punt from Hamish Hartlett’s long bomb inside 50 to convert the first goal of the game on Friday.
Even commentators were uncertain at first, but Westhoff immediately claimed the goal and told FiveAA after the game he certainly intended it.
“I pretty much spoilt it straight to my foot, it was my plan all along,” Westhoff told FIVEaa.
“It was just one of those things, I think, in the right spot at the right time, my foot, so I’ll take it.”
