They’re from different eras, but they share a commitment to the Port Adelaide Football Club and a love for the spirit of competition … and now they’re combining that passion to go head-to-head in a membership challenge.

Power vice-captain Travis Boak and leadership group member Jackson Trengove have thrown out the challenge to Magpies premiership heroes Tim Ginever and George Fiacchi to see who can sign up the most supporters to Port Adelaide’s Target 40,000 member-get-member drive.

The past and present duos have registered with Target 40,000 and emailed selected supporters in a recruiting drive that will not only push up membership but also build a fierce rivalry between the “old boys” or the “young guns”.

In their email, Boak and Trengove state: “We’d love to have you … on board for 2012 to help the club and help us show Tim and George that we’ve got what it takes!.

“Help your club … help us knock off Tim and George … and be a part of something special as we build a great new era at Port Adelaide.”

Ginever and Fiacchi - who are One Club ambassadors - have told their targets: “We want you signed up for 2012 to help the club and to help us show the ‘boys’ who’s boss!

“We just want to win and teach Boaky and Jacko not to mess with their elders!”

The two teams will tally points for every member they secure in the Target 40,000 challenge, which encourages EVERY Port Adelaide member to help sign-up supporters until the end of May.

There are great prizes on offer for those who secure the most members, although Travis, Jackson, Tim and George won’t be eligible. The bragging rights will be enough!

If you haven’t received an email from Jackson & Travis or Tim & George and you’d like to sign on and have your membership count towards either team, email membership@pafc.com.au and we’ll be in touch.
