IT was a thriller in Round 16 between Team Boak and Gray’s Greats - with my boys doing just enough to get across the line by 25 points, despite starting the game with just 20 fit men! Better luck next week Robbie.

I’m feeling fairly confident about where I’m sitting at the moment. I’ve still got 10 trades left and this week I’m back in the side to face the Crows - so no zero in my midfield.

It really is getting down to crunch time with finals just around the corner in round 19. I’m sitting second in my league, but I’m only one game ahead of fifth spot and I desperately want that double chance to make sure I’ve got bragging rights over a few mates!

Getting these final few trades right is so important, and as Robbie wrote last week, your choice of captain could be the difference between a win and a loss or in my case, a double chance or no double chance.

My first three targets to upgrade are Josh Hunt, Jack Trengove and Nic Naitanui. When I’m thinking about my upgrades I like to decide who is going to get me the biggest increase in points over the course of the season and at the cheapest price.

This is why Trengove will probably be my first upgrade. There is a plethora of great midfield options I can get for around $100,000 more than Trengove is worth and they all average about 40 points more. Compare that to who I could get in the backline or rucks for Hunt or Naitanui for the same cost and the upgrade will only net me about 25 points per week. But first I need to decide who I’m going to downgrade to make some cash!

For captain choice this week, I’m going to stick with the Brownlow Medallist from Geelong - Gary Ablett. He burnt me a bit last week with an 81 while I had Leigh Montagna chalk up a massive 133, but I think with the Cats playing at Skilled Stadium against the struggling Lions, he’ll be back on top form!

Congratulations to Michael Graetz whose team posted the highest score for Round 16. Michael’s team Dominant Performance was ranked 12th in the country for the week with a whopping 2,386 thanks to a massive 140 from the Power’s very own Kane Cornes. A week’s worth of pizza is headed Michael’s way thanks to the great people at Pizza Hut.

It’s close at the top of the Pizza Hut rankings chart with Jamie Ainsworth’s team REDRAT FC holding a 191 point lead to second placed Steven Brown. Daniel Watson’s The Lovecats are coming home strong with a 2,385 - just one point off the weekly win. With only six rounds to go, who will hold their nerve?
