PORT ADELAIDE forward Gemma Houghton sustained a syndesmosis injury in Saturday’s match against the Western Bulldogs. 

Houghton’s foot became caught beneath her body when she was wrapped up in a tackle during the second term. 

The 28-year-old underwent a successful surgery on her ankle on Tuesday evening and is expected to be sidelined for six to seven weeks. 

Existing injury-listed players Britt Perry and Litonya Cockatoo-Motlap are tracking well and should both be available for selection within the next two weeks.
