DRAFTEE Sarah Goodwin has been named in Port Adelaide’s squad for the side’s home clash against Sydney on Saturday.
Glenelg product Goodwin was pick two for Port Adelaide at this year’s AFLW draft, with the attacking defender also able to make an impact through the middle.
Goodwin was named All-Australian following South Australia’s undefeated run at the under-18 national championships this year and was selected in The Advertiser’s SANFLW team of the year.
The 18-year-old will be joined in the side by former Gold Coast player Britt Perry, who has been removed from the injury list after sustaining a syndesmosis injury during pre-season.
The experienced 28-year-old has 18 AFLW matches to her name and brings good football knowledge and a level-head to the forward line.
Ella Boag, Litonya Cockatoo-Motlap and Tessa Doumanis and have been named emergencies for Round Four, while Liz McGrath (hamstring injury) and Justine Mules (personal reasons) come out of the side.
Saturday’s game gets under way at 12:40pm ACST and will be shown live on 7mate and Fox Footy/Kayo.
