The AFL today confirmed Port Adelaide’s opening 14 home-and-away games by venue and timeslot for the 2023 season.
The club’s opponents for its remaining nine games are also locked in but the timeslots to remain as floating fixtures as was the case in the previous two seasons.
Port Adelaide will open its 2023 campaign at Adelaide Oval against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday 18 March, the club’s first home opener since 2018.

The highlights of the Power’s opening Rounds include a Round 3 home Saturday night Showdown, a Saturday night clash against the Western Bulldogs as part of the AFL’s inaugural Gather Round, an Anzac Round home game against West Coast and a Round 10 Friday night meeting against Melbourne at Adelaide Oval to open Sir Doug Nicholls Round.
Port Adelaide will also host Geelong, Essendon, Collingwood and Richmond in the second half of the season.
The fixture sees Port Adelaide travelling to Sydney, Hobart and Perth once and seven times to Victoria, including three games at the MCG.
The Power will play Geelong, Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond, the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide twice.
Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson says the Port Adelaide community of members, supporters and commercial partners should be excited by what the 2023 fixture offers.
“Our first three home games provide exciting match ups against quality sides in Saturday timeslots that are preferred by our members and supporters,” Mr Richardson said.
“We again have the honour of hosting Anzac Round which is always a privilege we never take for granted.
“This will mark the 20th consecutive time Port Adelaide has hosted an Anzac Round game in Adelaide and we continue to enjoy a great partnership with the RSL and defence community here in South Australia.
“Equally, we are also privileged to be opening Sir Doug Nicholls Round against Melbourne in Round 10. Port Adelaide has a rich history of nurturing and providing pathways for Indigenous talent and we look forward to celebrating the incredible legacy Indigenous players have contributed to our club and Australian football.
“For our commercial partners we play in three national free-to-air Friday night games in the first part of the season, along with a Thursday night clash against reigning premiers Geelong and two national free-to-air Saturday night games. In short, six of our first 14 games will be on free-to-air which is a huge win for our partners.
“We play seven games in Victoria (three at the MCG), and a game in each of Sydney, Hobart and Perth so our people will enjoy getting around the country again in 2023 to support the team.”
