PORT ADELAIDE will open its SANFL season with a twilight Showdown at Adelaide Oval.

The SANFL has confirmed Port Adelaide will tackle the Crows to open the season for the second straight year, as a curtain raiser to the AFL Round 3 Showdown.

Last season the Crows won the opening meeting between the sides before the Magpies ended the season with a win in the reverse fixture, leaving Port Adelaide with a 10-7 win-loss advantage in SANFL Showdowns.

Port will tackle the Crows from 3:00pm on Saturday 1 April, with the AFL Showdown to follow at 7pm.

Round 1 of the 2023 Hostplus SANFL League fixture will also see premier Norwood taking on the Eagles to start the season on Friday 31 March, with South Adelaide hosting Central District, Glenelg travelling to Unley to take on Sturt, and North and West doing battle at Prospect.

The remaining SANFL fixtures are expected to be confirmed next week.
