DEFENSIVE duo Trent McKenzie and Ryan Burton are out of selection contention this week, with coaches set to consider changes ahead of Showdown 53.
McKenzie suffered an ankle injury in the opening round, which could keep him sidelined for another four weeks, while Burton has been handed a two-match ban for rough conduct.
Port Adelaide was run over by a slick Collingwood outfit in a 71-point defeat on Saturday, but will be hoping to bounce back against a winless Adelaide in Round 3.
Depending on possible match-ups, swift backman Jase Burgoyne could hold his place, while Tom Clurey is also a possibility to slot back into the side.
Jake Pasini continues to patiently await an AFL debut, with the 22-year-old collecting 16 touches in Sunday’s SANFL trial, while Riley Bonner’s 28-disposal performance in the same game could put him on the coaches’ radar.
Travis Boak returned as the tactical substitute in Round 2, with the 300-gamer emerging from the clash with no further injury concerns.
Boak is expected to line up in the starting 22 this week, meaning a mid-forward will likely be omitted to make room.
Forward Jeremy Finlayson is also a chance to come back into the team, now having two SANFL practice matches under his belt since returning from syndesmosis surgery.
Port Adelaide will name its AFL side to face the Crows on Thursday evening. The game at Adelaide Oval gets underway at 7pm local time.
