DOB: 22 October 2003

PORT ADELAIDE has selected Georgie Jaques as the club’s third and final pick (pick 15 overall) in the AFLW Supplementary Draft.
Ruck/defender Jaques joins the Power from SANFLW club Norwood, where she made her senior football debut in Round 1 this year.
Originally from Canberra, she made the move to Adelaide to test herself in one of the strongest state leagues in the country.
Playing mainly as a ruck at SANFLW level, Jaques can also play in the backline, with enough height to play a key defender role.
Born into the Port Adelaide family, her father Daniel, who was also a ruck, played 28 games for the Magpies, winning a SANFL Premiership in 1998.
Port Adelaide List Manager Naomi Maidment said:
Georgie is a developing tall, who has played most of her junior football as a ruck. We see her potential as a key defender with the ability to play a second ruck role if required. She’s a very mature, driven 19-year-old who is really connected with her Indigenous roots, and Port Adelaide is committed to providing opportunities for young Indigenous talent. She has a strong overhead mark and the ability to win ruck contests. She’s been playing well for Norwood this SANFLW season and we can’t wait to see how she will develop in an AFLW program.
