OLLIE LORD will make his AFL debut and captain Tom Jonas will return to Port Adelaide’s side for its Anzac Appeal game against West Coast on Saturday.            

Jonas sat out last week’s win over the Western Bulldogs to allow him to manage knee soreness and after time off to freshen up comes back in to lead the side against the Eagles.

Lord takes the place in the side of the injured Charlie Dixon, who jarred his knee in a ruck contest in last week’s game.

Selected with pick 49 in the 2020 AFL National Draft, Lord came through the Sandringham Dragons program. The 197cm forward has impressed with his competitiveness at SANFL level so far this season, despite missing part of pre-season with a lacerated kidney.

Ollie Lord calls his mum with the good news he is making his AFL debut.

Trent McKenzie has been named at full back in what will be his 150th AFL game.

Along with Jonas and Lord, Brynn Teakle comes into the side for his third AFL game in place of ruckman Scott Lycett, who has been omitted.

Defender Dylan Williams and last week’s tactical substitute Jackson Mead have also been omitted but both remain among the emergencies and are a chance at being the sub.

The other emergencies are Riley Bonner and Mitch Georgiades.

The tactical sub will be named from among the emergency list an hour before Saturday’s 1:15pm ACST first bounce at Adelaide Oval.

Tickets are still available for the match, with a family pass in the Eastern Stand available for just $50 - a saving of $145 - by entering the code FAMILY50.

The team will also be wearing a specially designed Anzac Appeal guernsey, with the match-worn jumpers to be auctioned after the game and proceeds donated to support the important work of the RSL in South Australia.
