The Port Adelaide Football Club is proud to welcome Australia’s leading brewer CUB as a Premier Partner from 2012.

CUB - brewer of Carlton Draught, the official beer of the AFL - has entered a long-term sponsorship of the Power, expanding its long-standing commitment to football in Australia.

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas said the relationship would see the club benefit from CUB’s status as a Premier Partner of the AFL.

“CUB has supported the AFL for more than 30 years and has a history of involvement with football down to its grassroots dating back to 1877,” Mr Thomas said.

“Port Adelaide and CUB have both been around for a very long time and the time is right to bring our organisations together.

“CUB is entrenched as one of the AFL’s most important partners and has substantial links with clubs across the country.

“By striking our own relationship, Port Adelaide can maximise CUB’s association with football in a way that will allow our own partnership to go from strength-to-strength in the years ahead.

“There are significant advantages to being associated with an AFL Premier Partner and we look forward to working with CUB on everything from promotional opportunities not only for our club, but also the league and community football, right through to engaging between one another’s corporate networks.”

CUB general manager (SA and NT) Mark Haysman said the company was honoured to form a partnership with Port Adelaide and broaden the company’s strong connection with the AFL.

“Port Adelaide has its own proud history and we are thrilled to be behind the Power and support their continuing journey in the AFL,” Mr Haysman said.

“We see our partnership as another link between Carlton Draught and the wider Australian community which loves its football.

“At CUB we are very proudly beer people and we are also proud of our contribution to our great game from the AFL right down to local clubs.

“Football brings people together whether it’s at an AFL game or at all those suburban and country ovals around the country, and we love being a part of that. This partnership allows us to widen that connection through the Port Adelaide community and we are really looking forward to that. ”
