PORT Adelaide captain Tom Jonas will miss Friday night’s match against the ladder-leading St Kilda after deciding not to appeal against a one-match suspension.
Jonas was handed the sanction for rough conduct by the Match Review Officer following Saturday’s win over West Coast.
The 32-year-old’s bump on Eagle Jai Culley in the second quarter of the 40-point win saw the pair also accidentally clash heads.
Culley was able to play out the game and he finished with four goals.
The incident was assessed to be careless conduct, of medium impact with high contact.
Having accepted the one-match sanction, Jonas will sit out the trip to Marvel Stadium and become available for selection again for the Round 8 meeting with Essendon at Adelaide Oval on Sunday 7 May.
