A MASSIVE 24 possession, 15 mark game from Cameron Cloke has won him the Round 6 Power SANFL Player of the Week Award.

Cloke, who made his Power debut in Round 3 against Brisbane, has been a force in the SANFL for the Magpies in 2010 and was instrumental in lifting Port to its first win for the season, over South at Alberton.

The award is judged by Power development coaches Garry Hocking and Darren Trevena and is announced exclusively at PortAdelaideFC.com.au each week.

Jackson Trengove and Jay Nash were both very unlucky not to win the award for Round 6 with brilliant performances, while Cam Hitchcock made an impressive return via the South reserves. The full wrap is below.

SANFL Player of the Week
Cameron Cloke (for Port v South @ Alberton) - A great game from Clokey playing up forward, in the ruck and a little bit in defence. Presented well at centre half forward, getting the jump on his opponent to take 15 marks. Used the ball well and worked hard around the ground to help his teammates out. Had 21 kicks, 3 handballs, 15 marks, 18 hitouts and 2.2.

Jackson Trengove (for Port v South @ Alberton) - A very good game from Jacko rotating from defence into the ruck and a bit up forward. He jumped in hard and centre bounces and chased the ball at stoppages. Played good tough footy all day and used the ball effectively and made the right decisions. Took an absolute hanger on the Allan Scott Power Headquarters wing. Finished the day with 10 kicks, 11 handballs, 10 marks, 4 tackles, 13 hitouts and 1.1.

Nick Salter (for Eagles v West @ Woodville) - Played at full forward and again booted 2.2 to stay on top of the SANFL goal-kicking list. Chased and tackled hard with 4 tackles which set up a couple of goals for the Eagles. Will be looking to build on that next week.

Matthew Broadbent (for Eagles v West @ Woodville) - Broady played half back for most of the day and provided some good link and rebound from defence for the Eagles in their win over South. Used the ball reasonably well with his 16 touches and tried to get involved at the stoppages when he could.

Mitch Banner (for Eagles v West @ Woodville) - Played mainly forward and had a reasonable day but didn’t finish off some of his good work with goals, kicking 0.3. Moved onto the ball in the final quarter and had a good impact at stoppages. Finished with 12 kicks, 4 handballs and 3 tackles.

Daniel Webb (for West v Eagles @ Woodville) - Played in the ruck and up forward. Looks good at the centre bounces, jumping in hard to give his midfielders first use. Looked dangerous up forward at times but wasn’t able to finish off with a goal. Had 9 kicks, 2 handballs, 6 marks 2 tackles and 11 hitouts.

Scott Harding (for West v Eagles @ Woodville) - Started the game well on a half forward flank, tearing it up in the first quarter. Pushed up the ground at times to help out at stoppages and looked dangerous with his pace. Needs to consistently produce this over four quarters to take the next step up.

Michael Pettigrew (for West v Eagles @ Woodville) - Another bag of 3 goals for Pettigrew, despite very limited supply in West’s forward line. Chased and tackled hard causing a couple of turnovers. Had 6 kicks, 4 handballs, 6 marks and 3.1.

Daniel Motlop (for North v Central @ Prospect) - Mots played on a wing and half forward and put in a good performance in his first game back from injury. Jay Nash stood Motlop and they had a good duel. Mots worked hard, leading up and chasing hard in the forward line. Had 11 kicks, 2 handballs, 7 marks and 1.3. He’ll be considered for selection after a performance like that.

Daniel Stewart (for North v Central @ Prospect) - Snowy played ruck and forward and although he was outmuscled at times in the ruck, he worked hard around the ground to win possessions. Had 11 possessions, 5 marks and an impressive 5 tackles to go with his 2 goals. Still crashed the packs and brought the ball to ground.

Jay Nash (for Central v North @ Prospect) - Set himself for a big one playing on Mots and covered him pretty well with some good spoils. Ran off him well for 23 kicks, 6 handballs, 5 marks and 11 handball receives. He’s improved every week over the past month and has a nice mix of attack and defence in his game now. His best game for the year, using the ball well and he’ll again be pushing for selection.

Wade Thompson (for North reserves v Central reserves @ Prospect) - Wade had a quiet day up until three quarter time but then came out and slotted 3 goals in the final term. We’d like him to do a bit more over the course of the game but he is still finding his feet again after a lay-off with injury.

Jarrad Redden (for Eagles reserves v West reserves @ Woodville) - Very good in the first half, jumping in at centre bounces and giving his midfielders first use of the ball. Worked hard around the ground and pushed back into defence to take a few strong marks. Pushed forward after half time due to a slight injury but was still able to have an impact with 2 goals. Finished the day with 14 possessions, 12 hitouts and 2.2.

Glenn Dawson (for Eagles reserves v West reserves @ Woodville) - A tough day for Glenn, struggling to get involved in the game. Needs to continue to work on his defensive pressure. Looks good playing inside the 50 with good pace on the lead and a good ability to take the pack mark. Finished with 4 touches and 1.1.

Cameron Hitchcock (for South reserves v Port reserves @ Alberton) - Played for South under the guest player rule with Glenelg having the bye. An excellent game playing forward. He worked hard to get to the right position, despite not always being used. Won his own footy and crumbed well, getting first to the ball regularly. Finished the game with 15 kicks, 6 handballs, 4 marks, 5 tackles and 3.1. Will have done his chances for selection no harm with that performance.

Jordan Johns (for South reserves v Port reserves @ Alberton) - Worked hard on a wing and had an impact in the first half with 3 kicks, 5 handballs and 3 marks. He pulled up a bit sore at half time and didn’t take any further part in the game.
